Cefixime Oral Suspension

Cefixime is a third- generation antibiotic.
Cefixime is highly resistance to beta-lactamase enzyme.
It has antibacterial action which is due to synthesis of mucopeptide in the bacterial cell wall.

Mechansium Of Action:

Cefixime binds to the specific penicillin binding proteins which is present in the bacterial cell wall and inhibits the cell wall synthesis.
It is also initiating the autolytic enzymes that promote the cell wall lysis.

Pharmacokinetics:

Absorption: It is absorbed orally.
Protein Binding: It is 65% bound to serum proteins.
Metabolism: It is metabolized in the liver.
Excretion: It is excreted via urine.
